Landscape Design Services

Fleurdelis Landscape Design is an environmental design firm providing comprehensive landscape design services for homeowners throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and bordering communities in Connecticut and New Hampshire. We specialize in all areas of landscape design, planning, consultation services, and implementation including master planning, large scale residential planning, and specialized garden plans.

The changing climate of New England is always a challenge but there are always many opportunities in every landscape for a great design.

We have the horticultural and aesthetic expertise and experience to create Master plans for new spaces, update existing spaces, and develop a Master Plan for a property both large and small. We closely work with each client by carefully listening to the desires and needs so that we can translate their desire into a pleasing and aesthetic landscape to enjoy for many years.

Consultation

This meeting is a consultation and designed to identify and solve a specific need or problem. This is a good time to identify further key issues and make recommendations based on those needs. The design consultation is a Garden Walk-Through where the client is provided with on-site recommendations. After the meeting, the client is provided with a list of written recommendations all for a flat fee.

Special Garden Area Design

A space may need to be redesigned and may need specific defined and detailed drawings to meet your needs (privacy, play areas, entertainment area); a request for a specific theme garden or type of garden may be included here. A detailed planting plan and drawings are included in this design service.

Landscape Master Plans

The development and design of your outdoor living space is as important as decorating the interior of your home. The garden should be an extension of your interior living space. A plan for the overall property is to bring to your home and your site a specific custom design that creates a garden that is right for you. The final design is a culmination of a process involving the exchange of ideas between client and designer with a shared vision of what the garden should look like. You may decide on whether this process of installation of the plan will take a period of months or even years. A Master Plan is successful when it unifies the elements of the site, the home, and the lifestyle of the homeowner. By combining these elements we can create a design that is harmonious, functional, and beautiful. Then we can work together to implement the design.

Plan Implementation

Once the plan is completed, the next phase is installation. We will manage the project at the client’s request including overseeing the installation of the project, selection of plant and hardscape materials, and any other selection of decorative accent or feature like a water fountain, planter, trellis, special lighting, and even garden furniture. We are often asked to find specific elements that match the design of the garden often using reclaimed materials like cobble stones, pottery, iron ware, etc.

Fleurdelis Landscape Design is committed to ensuring that a project implementation is orchestrated smoothly down to the finest detail. We work very closely with the client to work within established budgets and if need be offer guidance in phasing the project resourcefully and effectively.

Plant Lists

With every plan the client is given a list of plants. You can take the list to the nursery and purchase the plants yourself or give the list to your own contractor so they can purchase the plants if they are going to implement the design.

Fleurdelis Landscape Design also offers a service to hand select the plants, if not a part of the overall management of the project

A Trip to the Nursery

For those who do not request a specific drawn plan, Fleurdelis Landscape Design provides a service that takes the client plant shopping. This is a half day to one day of shopping at a nursery of your choice where we work together to make decisions on plants for a selected area. We will meet at your house and identify the space and then make the trip to the nursery to make the plant selections.

Construction Coordination

I work very closely with contractors during the construction process to ensure quality project installation. We strive to combine beautiful, low-maintenance, site-sensitive plant material with handsome site elements such as paths, patios, and stonewalls to create a unique garden space that is to be enjoyed for years to come.

Maintenance

You may use any of your own contractors to implement any or all of our designs. I will recommend qualified experienced contractors to implement or maintain your garden space.
